Description: The need for trust affects each society and each time period differently, yet no one can deny its abiding significance. Trust is foundational for governments and nations, but equally so for more intimate relationships, without which larger power structures could not endure. Trust has also been thrust to the forefront of our national consciousness in the past few decades with the rapid growth of technology and the apparent decline in trustworthy leaders and institutions. With these considerations in mind, I spent two summers examining the different models of trust held by youth and adult populations in America.
